SoA & Sick people

So if you folks out there have not seen it yet then I highly recommend Sons of Anarchy on FX. It's not for the timid or for kids thats for sure, but the wife and I enjoy it and are looking forward to watching the second season soon.
As for the people around me, ya'll are sick! I mean really sick, like colds and flu stuff. I don't get sick that often, usually a overnight thing or and ear/ sinus infection, but it seems that alot of people that are close to me are sick for like weeks at a time. I hope it isn't me or something.
The wife went to her first no Catholic wedding this past weekend, and boy was she surprised at the differences, in fact so was I. But we had a great time and the reception afterwards was fun too.
Not a whole lot going on lately and that is a good thing sometimes.
Hope you are all well out there in the world and not too sick.

News Update!!!

Again i sit here at the keyboard and type," Been so busy...", yet not that busy that I couldn't get on here and type out a few sentences about things that are or were going on in my life recently. So here is a brief summary....
went to Winston Salem for Halloween with the Wheeler family, and toured Old Salem too. Old Salem was cool, and I really would like to go back when I have more time to really see it all, and from just what I saw I suggest going there and taking a tour around. Halloween was a blast!! The kids all dressed up and went Trick or Treating in their new 'hood, and I dressed up too!!! Bruce, my brother-in law, let me borrow a large rubber demon mask and hands, and his heavy old Jedi robe...... oh man... THAT WAS AWESOME. No one in the 'hood new who I was and I played that up big time. "Do you have any Mimosa's?", "Can I have a ride in your golf cart?", and many more things that I said but can't remember. Next year I'm definitely dressing up again just so I can act up and get silly again.
Life at the home stead is great, and the wife is wonderful (as always), and I think Zeus (the dog) and I are finally getting along. As long as he doesn't take my side of the bed at night.
I hope everyone out there is doing good and things are moving along smoothly for you in the world.
Till next time (which should be sooner than later),
Ricky

been busy

As you can tell by the heading, I've been a little busy lately. The wife and I went on a family vacation with her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews (22 people in all) to Ocean Isle in NC. We all had a great time together and I think the kids had the best time of all. The weather was good for the most part, rainy for other parts, but it was a good time for all. We all got together on the beach and took a big family picture, and it looks awesome. Then... let me see, the wife and I were judges for a bake off for her schools Fall Fling event. Man I almost got sick on that, but I'm a trooper and I pulled through just fine. Lately we have been just doing the daily grind (work, dinner, fun, back to work). BUT!! the holidays are coming up and I know the wife is excited about putting up decorations for the various holidays and I'm ready for them.
Short report today, kinda busy, but maybe I can throw some stuff out there tomorrow.

our future

Morning all! I want to put something out there for all of you in "wonderland"that may or may not know, I want children. This comes from recent events with other peoples children and friends becoming newly pregnant. Not to take someone elses, but to bring someone who is a part of myself and my wife into the world. So people look at me and I know they are thinking, "you are not ready." So be it, who is. I'm in debt up to my bald spot, I waste money in travelling to work everyday, and I'm so unhealthy... well I know it's bad. But those things can change and be changed in a short amount of time, but a child, that takes decades to mature (if ever) and I don't want to be too old to enjoy their childhood and adult years. That being said, I want kids.
I remember looking at my wife holding our newest nephew, and feeling this over whelming loss at not being able to feel parenthood, and missing it all these years. Todays world is a hard place to raise a kid, but it's still full of so many wonders and I want to give that to my future. My wife is ready and so am I, but is the world?
Nope, the world won't know what hit'em when our kids come out to play.
Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope that if you have kids that you still enjoy giving them all the wonders this place can offer.

a short week... thank the lord

So today is the start of a short week for me, only three days. The rest will be at the beach with my wife's family for Thursday thru Monday in Ocean Isle. Oh Yeah!! Gonna cook in the sun!! Time for lobster!!!! If you know me then you know I'm fair skin and I hate the feel of sun protection on my skin.. too oily. But the wife will beat me till next month if I don't wear any and really..... I need it. But I have to say this past week has me really looking forward to this vacation. It was a tough week driving to work, I didn't want to go at all, and it was had driving home to. Not the being at home part, no I love coming home to the wife and pooch, but the Hour and a half is starting to get to me ...bad. So if anyone out there knows or hears of a job in the Fayetteville or surrounding area let me know, cause in October (a few days away) I'm going to be looking HARD CORE for anything down in the area. This past weekend was great, except of Saturday, which the wife knows all about (her migraine), but Sunday was excellent. I hope eveyones was good too and that your Monday is off to a great start.

Monday again

So I didn't blog after our anniversary, been kinda busy and a little off lately.
We had a great anniversary weekend, but the day itself was wonderful. My wife is great and she got me a very special gift, a photo of her on our wedding day with our song (everlasting love) lyrics on the side. I get to look at her in her dress and smile with remembrance. I just wrote her a letter about our first year together, and what a year it was.
Then this past week was full of work, food, and work. But this past weekend was nice, we worked Saturday morning, I played with the Lads, and she spent a nice evening with Zeus and the phone. Sunday we went and visited the Wheeler family in Winston - Salem. We both had a great time, but I know the wife needed some family time, and I'm glad she got it.
Just to let you know, if you didn't already, I love my wife.

Wednesday... oh boy

So it's Wednesday September 2nd. Joy! So much has happened since my last post so I might not get everything in, but here are the high lights....
The Wheeler family has moved. My wife's sister and her family has moved to Winston Salem this week after a long weekend (and month) of getting things ready. I know that it hasn't hit me yet that the kids are gone, and I know that this weekend or the next when things are quiet I'll really miss them jumping on the mini-trampoline or performing a show for the wife and me.
And yes, I'll miss Tammy and Bruce too, but the kids.... well you always miss them the most.
I guess that's about it really..... NOPE!!! This weekend is going to be our first wedding anniversary, and I have no idea what to do. Got no money, no ideas (well a few), and got only one chance to impress. So pray for me out there that I do good on Sunday.

Alas, another monday. This weekend was fun, but I think my wife had more fun than me. I went to RP (roleplay) with my friends in Raleigh Saturday night (some Star Wars action, thank you Ryan). The wife went to G105's Second Chance Prom at the Embassy Suites in Cary with some of her work friends... She had a blast!!! I'll try to get some pics up for everyone to look at.
Enjoy your Monday everyone.
